Wiseman Fee Philosophy - Overview

We are pleased to inform you generally of our fee requirements and need for a written fee agreement. The truth is that most disagreements between attorneys and their clients come from some form of misunderstanding about how the attorney is to be paid for his legal services. We strive to be forthcoming and straightforward about our legal fees and how we are to be paid. This is to prevent any misunderstanding so that the attorney and the client can concentrate on solving the legal issue at hand, not the financial aspects of the case.

Bankruptcy Fees

Most individual bankruptcies can be handled by this firm from between $500.00 to $750.00. Since no two individual cases are exactly the same, a call to the office will be necessary for a further evaluation.

Most small business bankruptcies can be handled from between $1,250.00 to $1,650.00, depending upon the complexities of the business. Again, a call to the office for an appointment will help determine the range of fees.

A written fee agreement in every case is required, both for the client and the firm's benefit. Fees are generally agreed upon to be a flat fee, i.e. the client will know exactly how much the cost will be and there will be no surprises. In difficult or complex bankruptcy cases, the agreement will include a provision for fees that will be in excess of the flat rate, because these cases are not the normal kind of cases.
